County Hall
County Hall, the grand former headquarters of London's local government on the South Bank, now houses several of the area's biggest visitor attractions under one roof — the London Eye's ticket office and base, SEA LIFE London Aquarium, and the London Dungeon.
SEA LIFE London Aquarium
One of Europe's largest aquariums, occupying County Hall's basement levels — sharks, rays, penguins and a walk-through ocean tunnel. Tickets from around £28 online; combination tickets with the London Eye or Madame Tussauds offer savings if visiting multiple Merlin attractions.
The Building Itself
County Hall was the seat of London government from 1922 until the Greater London Council was abolished in 1986 — the grand riverside facade is worth a look even if you're not visiting the attractions inside. Part of the building now operates as a hotel.
Getting There
Westminster (Circle, District and Jubilee lines) is directly across Westminster Bridge; Waterloo (multiple lines) is a short walk south.
Tips
- Book combination tickets online if visiting multiple County Hall attractions in one day — meaningfully cheaper than separate admissions.
- The aquarium is a good rainy-day option paired with the London Eye across the road.
