Greenwich Park
Greenwich Park is one of London's oldest Royal Parks, sitting on a hill above the Thames with the Royal Observatory at its summit — free to enter and home to one of the best views in the city.
The View
From the top of the hill near the Observatory, the view sweeps across Greenwich, the Thames and Canary Wharf's towers — genuinely one of London's best free panoramas, and less crowded than central viewpoints.
The Deer Park
A smaller, enclosed deer park within the wider grounds — a quieter corner most visitors miss, home to a resident herd.
Getting There
Greenwich or Maze Hill (National Rail) or Cutty Sark (DLR).
Tips
- Climb to the Observatory hill for one of London's best free views.
- Combine with the Cutty Sark and Greenwich Market for a full day out.
