Sky Garden sits atop 20 Fenchurch Street — nicknamed "the Walkie-Talkie" for its distinctive shape — and offers three floors of gardens, bars and restaurants with panoramic, free views across London from 155 metres up. It's one of the few free viewpoints in the city, which makes booking essential.

Tickets and Booking

Entry is free but requires advance booking through the official website — slots release roughly three weeks ahead and popular times (sunset, weekends) sell out fast. Bring photo ID matching the booking name; walk-ups are only occasionally accommodated on quiet weekdays.

What's Inside

The top floor houses terraced gardens with Mediterranean and South African planting, an open-air terrace, and two dining options: the casual Darwin Brasserie and the upscale Fenchurch Restaurant. A separate bar area serves drinks without a food booking.

The View

Sky Garden faces east and south over the Thames, the Shard, Tower Bridge and the City's cluster of skyscrapers — the Gherkin and the Cheesegrater are visible practically at eye level from certain angles. Sunset slots are the most requested for the light over the river.

Getting There

Monument and Bank stations (several lines) are both a short walk away; Fenchurch Street mainline station is directly opposite the entrance.
